Gift of Norr
A mythic upper middle grade fantasy
In the enchanted land of Meadow, young Norr discovers he can conjure fire from his hands — a gift that once scarred the land when an ancestor misused it against the fairy folk. Warned by his grandmother to temper his power, Norr instead lashes out in anger after being tricked by two fairies, injuring them and drawing the wrath of the Fairy Queen. When his grandmother drowns retrieving a crystal tied to his fate, Norr is banished from Meadow and the land’s magic begins to fail.
As he struggles to master his dangerous gift, Norr uncovers a deeper magic capable of healing both the human realm and the Otherworld — but only if both sides choose to participate freely. To save Meadow and earn his way home, he must relinquish control and confront the Fairy Queen not as an enemy, but as a partner in shared grief. In doing so, Norr becomes a bridge between realms, proving that true power lies not in domination, but in cooperation — and in the shared work of protecting the land they both love.
